How we build the question bank

Crack ML Interview is a bank of real machine learning, AI and software engineering interview questions. It holds 3,676 questions from 363 companies, and 166 were added in the last 30 days.

Where the questions come from

Two places: questions people upload after their own interviews, and interview posts on 1Point3Acres and other forums, where engineers share the questions from their loops.

  1. STEP 1

    Collect real reports

Many questions are uploaded to us directly by people right after their own interviews. Every day we also read new interview posts on 1Point3Acres, the largest forum where engineers share their interview loops, and other public forums.

  2. STEP 2

    Rebuild the original problem

A report rarely states the full question. From hints like "a DP problem on stock prices, follow-up with k transactions" we work out what was actually asked. Repeat reports of the same question update its "last asked" date instead of adding a copy.

  3. STEP 3

    Write it up properly

Each question is written fresh in English as a formal problem statement with examples and constraints, and gets a full editorial. Coding questions also get starter code and runnable tests. We never copy the original text.

  4. STEP 4

    Review before it goes live

Before a new question goes live, a separate reviewer checks it against its source, attacks its tests, and scores it against our quality rubric. Reports with no real question in them are skipped.

What is free

Every question page shows its title, company, topic, difficulty, when it was last reported asked, and the first paragraph of the problem. 248 questions are fully free, with the complete problem and solution. The rest of each problem, its tests and its solution come with a subscription.
